LIARS GO TO HELL. 10:18 PM

How to know if someone is lying to you.

Suppose that you went to a friend of yours with a fake smile on your face, and then told him that you were sad, would he believe you?
No, he would never believe you because he can see the smile on your face; in other words, he has noticed the inconsistency between what you are saying and your facial expression.
You might think "Nobody smiles when appearing to be sad” and you'd be right on that, but I’m not talking here about conscious inconsistencies; I’m talking about unconscious ones.
Your
subconscious mind controls many of your involuntary functions like that of breathing, sweating, heart-beating....etc. when someone attempts to lie they usually control their facial expressions and tone of voice, but their unconscious mind still controls all other involuntary signals like body language and respiration rate. These unconscious signals are what we will be using to detect if they are lying; if their words are consistent with their unconscious signals then they are saying the truth otherwise, they are lying.
This article is not about intuitive or logical tricks but provides lying detection methods that are based on deep psychological concepts and proven facts.
Signs that Show if Someone Is Lying

The following are signs you should look for when attempting to spot a liar:

Body Language:
Liars usually hide their palms and don’t sit straight while telling a lie. They also avoid eye contact at the time of the lie and generally use negative evaluation gestures if they feel bad while lying (For more information, check the full page on a liar's body language).

Eye Accessing Cues Mismatch:
According to NLP The direction the eye takes reflects the function taking place in the brain at the time. For example, looking towards the upper left side means that you are constructing an image in your mind while looking at the upper right side would mean that you are recalling an image. How can that be of use? Well, think about it, if someone looks towards the upper left when asked about something, he's probably constructing an image of the lie he's about to tell. This is just one sign that he might be lying.(See the full guide to eye accessing cues and liar detection).

Inconsistencies in the Story:
In different places and times, the story is more likely to change every single time it is discussed. He will forget a word, add something completely new, or remove something that he had previously mentioned. Regardless of the type of inconsistency, it shows he is lying.

Feeling Anxious:
Almost anyone who lies feels anxious, with various degrees depending on how professional the liar is. One of your concerns should be trying to spot his state of anxiety; talk as much as you can about the subject in order to keep him anxious. Check out anxiety body language in order to be able to detect anxiety.

Avoiding the Subject:
A person who wants to hide something will usually try to avoid bringing it up in the conversation or even talking about anything remotely related to it. Try to talk about anything related to the situation without addressing it directly and see if he tries to jump out of it into another topic.

Lack of Assertiveness:
Unless that person is a special agent who is professionally trained to lie, he will usually lack assertiveness while lying. His tone of voice will be lower and he will appear to be less confident.

Speaking Slowly:
When lying, the person will usually be making up events as he goes along, which will result in slower speech or even several complete stops to think about what he's about to say.

FLOODS. 8:56 PM

What causes a flood?

A number of factors can contribute to that imbalance, including:

heavy, intense rainfall
run-off from a deep snow cover
over-saturated soil, when the ground can't hold anymore water.
frozen soil
high river, stream or reservoir levels caused by unusually large amounts of rain
ice jams in rivers
urbanization, or lots of buildings and parking lots

There are two basic types of floods. In a regular river flood, water slowly climbs over the edges of a river. The more dangerous type, a flash flood, occurs when a wall of water quickly sweeps over an area. Almost three-quarters of the approximately 92 deaths from floods each year are due to flash floods.
Conquering the Flash Flood.
"Because the rainfall associated with flash flooding is so intense, it is among the most challenging problems we have in meteorology," Richards says. "Bottom line is, we don't do a good of predicting exactly where that type of rainfall will fall."
But that may soon change. The National Weather Service is responsible for predicting the weather and warning people about severe weather. Up until now, meteorologists could only guess when a flash flood would occur. Now, they have a new tool, called Doppler radars, which can track rainfall street by street. This should provide more accurate flash flood warnings across the country. The new radar systems should allow meteorologists to provide warnings before a flash flood occurs.

Controlling the river flood.

River flooding, while often more damaging to property, is much easier to predict. The land around a river is called a watershed. When rain falls on a watershed, the land "sheds" the water into the river. "It's almost like a funnel," Richards says. "It's collecting water over a broad area and funneling it this narrow strip that is the river."
Residents and scientists can tell when there has been an unusual amount of snow and rain, and they can see the river getting higher everyday. Early prediction gives emergency officials time to evacuate residents in the danger areas. For example, during the spring of 1997, the heavy flooding of cities along the Red River in North Dakota and Minnesota was predicted two months in advance.
Another winter-related cause of river flooding is ice jams. At times, large chunks of floating ice will pile up if they hit bend, bridge or other obstruction and stop the river's flow.
"The phenomenon is very like when you were on an Interstate highway in an urban area, and there's some sort of construction area where you go from a certain number of lanes to one lane," Richards says. "The traffic backs up."
The '97 floods in the Upper Plains states were caused by heavy rainfall during the fall. Water from that record rainfall froze, and snow then fell on the ice. When the spring thaw came, not only the water from the winter snowfall but also the water from the earlier autumn rainfall rushed into the Red River.

Human progress vs. Mother Nature.

Human activity that changes the surface of the Earth also effects the water cycle, and can cause floods. Buildings, parking lots and roads, replace grass and dirt with concrete. Under normal circumstances, soil acts like a sponge and soaks up a fair portion of rainwater. But in crowded towns and cities, rainwater flows into storm sewers and drainage ditches, and, at times, overloads them. An urban area can be flooded by an amount of rainfall that would have had no impact in a rural area.
The destruction of the nation's wetlands may also contribute to moderate floods. The wetlands are the swampy land along the edges of some rivers. When it rains, the wet soil and mud of a wetland acts like a sponge and stores the extra water. But much of America's wetlands have been drained for farmland or to build houses. The only place flood water can go is up and over its normal riverbanks and into areas where it can cause major damage.
Floods are primarily natural events. Human activity influences the frequency and severity of floods, but they are created by Mother Nature. There is no really workable protection against major floods like those that hit Grand Forks in the spring of 1997 and the Mississippi River Basin in 1993. Our best defense against floods is an understanding of the way people treat their environment and better weather prediction.

swimming in it. 12:27 AM

last friday, when we were about to watch the most awaited MR. AND MS. PSYCH PAGEANT NIGHT, hnd ko akalaing mapapaaway ung classmates ko. supposedly, hnd na dapat namin sila papansinin but they kept on saying bad things against us. sinabi nilang sumingit daw kami. my classmates confronted them kaya nagkasagutan sila. :/ grabe, porke't fourth year sila feeling na nila dapat may special treatment sa kanila. unfair naman yun sa iba dba? pare-pareho lang naman kaming students. they're so barbaric. they can say it naman in a good way. ang point pa, yes! fourth year nga sila. hnd ba dapat sila ung makikisama. don't tell me they made it through fourth year with that attitude?

nuff said. :))

last saturday naman, my parents and i were arguing kung pupunta pa ako sa outreach kc umaga pa lang umuulan na. eh, i have to. i want to help!

we enjoyed naman. ansarap tlg ng feeling na nakakatulong sa kapwa especially to children. the problem is, the rain won't stop. we, me and my ComAch buddies, were about to go home na when it rained really hard so we got stranded at kalaw street near luneta - i think? hindi na kinaya nung coaster. hindi na kami maiihatid kc sobrang baha na din ang espana. and so we have to SWIM our way to LRT. haha. :)) hindi ko inimagine ang sarili kong lumulusong sa baha. we were all freezing. kasagsagan ni bagyong ondoy nung pauwi na kami. pahirapan pa ang pagsakay sa LRT. sobrang daming tao that time. we all looked so kawawa. despite all, i can say it's a nice experience.

ang malala, yung mga grabeng naapektuhan ng typhoon. like marikina, pasig and cainta. chest-high na yung flood. madaming namatay. madaming pamilya ang nwalan ng bahay. makikita naman yung pagtutulungan ng filipinos in times like this. there's nothing else we can do but PRAY na hindi na pumasok sa philippines yung 2 more typhoons. powerful ang prayers so kailangan tlga.

LSS, evhur. :)) 8:26 AM

To my favorite teacher
told me never give up
To my fifth grade crush
Who I thought I really loved
To the guys I've missed
and the girls we've kissed
Where are you now

To my ex-best friends
Don't know how we grew apart
To my favorite band
Sing along in my car
To the face I see in my memory
Where are you now

Where are you now?
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am

To my first girlfriend
I thought for sure was the one
To my last girlfriend
Sorry that I screwed it up
To the ones I loved
Didn't show it enough
Where are you now

Where are you now
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for youI would never be who I am

I know we'll never see those days again
And things will never be that way again
But that's just how it goes
People change but I know
I won't forget you

To the ones who came
Who we're there from the start
To the love that left
And took a piece of my heart
To the few who'd swear
They'd never go anywhere
Where are you now?

Where are you now?
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you
I would never be how I am
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am
If it wasn't for you
I'd be nothing
Where are you now?

so let's talk about INSULTS and SARCASM. 5:26 AM

i have read these interesting things, all about insults. have i told you that INSULT is my favorite word? :)) im not being mean but insult and sarcasm can also be necessities, ya know. :p

Without wasting any more time, here's the list:

Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh at you or pity you.

When someone's looking at an object (e.g. his wallet) and laughing --What, does your wallet tell jokes?

When someone does something extremely fast --You taking steroids?

When someone says, "I feel so stupid" --It's okay to feel what you are.

When someone is spelling something aloud --Are you taking part in a spelling bee?

When someone is counting random numbers aloud --Playing BINGO?

When someone says, "Hey, you wanna hear a joke?" --It's okay, you're a joke all by yourself.

Looks like I overestimated the number of your brain cells.

When someone says, "I feel so stupid" or something similar --That's an understatement.
When someone says, "I'm so short!" --No, you're *quite* tall.

Cheer up! You're still taller than my sausage dog!

Let's say you're looking at a picture on a book, and someone asks, "What's that?!" --A book. Duh!

When someone asks, "Why don't you talk to me??" --You're not worth talking to.

Talking to you doesn't bring any benefits.

When someone tells you, "John is so ugly!" --Gee, you remind me of him.

When someone says, "I've a pretty sister." --Whatever happened to the brother / sister?

When someone says, "Hey, do you know that (blah) (blah) (blah)" --Alert the media!

When someone says, "Oh, no! I've a pimple! What should I do about it?!"I've bigger things on my mind to think about than your puny pimple, you know.

When someone says, "Don't tell me you're gonna tell me your parents" or something similar --I do have a life too, you know.

Someone has a weird or funny name --Gee, your parents certainly have a weird sense of humour.

When someone says, "I don't know how to do this." --Ah, I'm not surprised.

When someone asks, "What's happening?!" --With your IQ, I don't think you can understand.

You're so dumb your IQ and shoe size are the same.

You're so ugly your parents initially wanted to name you Rover.

Your B.O. is so bad you're classified as a potential biological weapon.

When someone delays something...
That will be the time when you get your first grandchild.

That will be the time when [name] stops doing [something he always does] (e.g. That'll be the day when Jack's feet finally smell nice)

dreams. 11:43 PM

super interesting ng topics sa GENERAL PSYCH. dream is one of the topics that amazed me. :)

SAD

To dream that you are sad, signifies a positive turn of events. It is generally a good dream foretelling good things are about to happen in your near future.

SUFFOCATION

To dream that you feel suffocated, signifies that you are feeling smothered by some situation or relationship. It also forewarns that your current love relationship will end in an extremely bitter break up.

REJECTION

To dream that you are rejecting something, indicates that there are feelings or situations that you want to be rid of. Alternatively, you may be refusing to accept a situation that is being imposed and forced upon you.
To dream that you are being rejected, signifies a lack of self-worth and alienation of others.

PARANOIA

To dream that you are paranoid, indicates your hesitance in moving forward in some situation or relationship. You are not ready for that major step in your life and are overcome with fear and suspicion.

MALICE

To dream that you have malice toward others, signifies that others will look down on you because of your ill temper. You need to control your temper.
To dream that others have malice towards you, denotes a false friend who is working on harming you.

more about DREAMS.

Dreams are fascinating things. Man has wondered for centuries about dreams and what dreams mean. There has also been much research into dreaming –when it occurs, why we dream what we do, etc. But, for all the wondering and research, there is still so much we do not know about dreams. However, here are a few facts we do know:

1. Researchers have discovered that each of us have at least four or five dreams a night. The dream state may last between one and two hours. If someone says they do not dream, they simply cannot remember their dreams.

2. We spend approximately a third of our life sleeping. Over an average lifetime, that equals to about six years of dreaming.

3. Mary Shelley claimed the story idea for Frankenstein came from a dream she had.

4. People who have been blind all their lives still dream. But, their dreams are formed based on their four other senses (touch, smell, taste, and sound).

5. One of the earliest forms of dream analysis was performed by the Romans. Dreams were often submitted to the Roman Senate for interpretation. The Romans thought their dreams were messages from the gods.

6. The average dream lasts between 10 and 15 minutes.

7. Studies have shown that while women dream equally of women and men, men tend to dream about other men more frequently than they dream about women.

8. If you awake right after REM sleep, you may be able to recall your dream more vividly than someone who has slept through to the morning.

9. Until the age of three or four, children do not appear in their own dreams. Children will not have what we view as adult-like dreams until they reach the age of 8 or 9. And, nightmares are very common in childhood.

10. You cannot be dreaming if you are snoring.

11. Polls show that up to 67% of Americans have had déjà vu while dreaming, with more women than men having had a dream of déjà vu.

12. The five most common dreams are that of falling, being chased, our teeth falling out, being back in school, and your spouse cheating on you.

13. At some point, someone started the rumour that if you dream that you die or hit the ground while falling in a dream, you will actually die in your sleep. This is an old wife’s tale – dreaming neither of these will kill you.

14. A 1980 study showed that 42% of people felt they had had a dream about something that later came true.

15. Dreaming is necessary. If people are prevented from dreaming, they can suffer from personality disorders and psychological problems.

16. It is estimated that about 50% of our dream content is forgotten only five minutes after waking.

17. Humans are not the only ones who dream. Many animals dream and scientists believe that all mammals dream.

18. Studies have shown that our dreams may be strongest when we are in REM sleep, the point at which our brain activity is most like that when we are awake.

19. Studies have shown that as many as 70% of all females and 65% of all males have had reoccurring dreams.

20. Alcohol, prescription drugs, and even certain types of foods can cause nightmares.

and so it goes. 11:01 PM

IM BACK FROM HYBERNATION!
